I’ve lived around Destin long enough that I probably take the view for granted sometimes, but the dunes at sunset will still get me. I wanted to paint one of those simple beach scenes that feels familiar to locals and like vacation to everyone else. I also had a slight hyperfixation with sea oats one week, so that was the biggest driving force behind why this piece exists.
